Happy Wednesday! The SJE team is having a fruitful week and excited about the events ahead. Today we briefly discuss color inspiration for your wedding. We often encounter brides who have settled on one specific color that they like. This could be because of a piece of fabric or a favorite color.
However, when deciding on a color palette for your wedding you can use a variety of things for inspiration. Try using a gemstone, an animal, or a piece of fruit. Mother Nature has multiple color combinations to choose from that simply ‘fit’ together.

Bridal Shower Inspiration
Feb 10
Our blog very much caters to inspiring all the lovely brides out there, but today I want to inspire the bridal party. About a month ago I had the honor of throwing my best friend a bridal shower. When throwing a bridal shower you want to do a couple of things. Get inspired from the bride. Take personal touches from her passions in life, engagement story and even that favorite food and drink she loves. Make the shower unique to her. My best friend loves sun flowers and it was a no brainer I would throw her a Tuscan theme shower with personal touches from the food to the décor. The Hostess With The Mostess blog provided me with the perfect Tuscan Inspiration.

Backyard Inspiration
Jan 13
I decided today to find these backyard inspiration boards for two reasons. One, I am longing for winter to be over and spring to arrive. There is something about spring that just makes everything seem so fresh and beautiful. My second reason is that in 2010 we are going to see a big trend in home weddings. After looking at these, I hope you are inspired as I was.

2010 Wedding Trends
Jan 4

Can you believe it is already 2010? At Simply Jubilee we are very excited to share with you what this year is going to bring to weddings. It’s going to be a great year for all of you 2010 brides! Take a look at this Top Ten trends list for 2010, courtesy of Getmarried.com
1. Back to Basics
Events will focus on paying attention to the details, the foundation of the event, not the drama or grandeur of the evening. Spend a bit more than the average budget allotment on photography mediums rather than extravagant floral.
2. Home Weddings Hit Home
Intimate affairs in the backyard are bigger than ever and more personal. Smaller size guest lists, more intimate settings, grass roots weddings, elegant and detail driven, but in no way small on what counts.
3. Buttercream on the Big Day
Fondant is falling behind, buttercream corners the market. Tools and techniques now allow for buttercream to look as smooth as fondant when applied by a skilled artist.
4. Favor Comeback
Personalized appreciation is back. The effect that an event has on the guests is more noticeable than ever before so the importance of a favor is felt more than ever.
5. Nearby Destinations
Nearby destination weddings are taking flight over the exotic and far off locales. The ever popular destination wedding will remain but guests will get out of town by car (within driving distance) so couples can create a weekend, guests get an escape, but no one breaks the bank
6. Colors
Monochromatic palettes – this doesn’t mean muted colors, just single color bunches. Vibrant Colors: Orange, green, yellow, and pink. Metal Colors: Gold, silver, copper, and pewter. And black is definitely the new black. Break the rules and show off the darker side of your event.
7. Greener Conscience
It’s no longer about making the event appear “organic” – it’s about understanding how things are made, disposed of, and where/when events take place. Learning to make better choices that are unseen by the guest are just as important as those tree-free invitations everyone is talking about.
8. Video Integration into Events
Video DJ’s are immerging, allowing your dance party to dance to the visuals of the music videos; ceremonies are being broadcast on screens for better viewing from the back; and time lapse photography is being shot and integrated into video for current day montages of you and your fiancé.
9. HD Video
Videographers have already gone hi-def. But next year all or most will make such a transition, making HD and even Blu Ray the norm in wedding videography.
10. Visual Combinations
Professional grade still photo cameras like the Canon 5D Mark II DSLR are being released with HD video capabilities included. It is recommended to have both a videographer and a photographer at your wedding to capture every moment of the big day.

So long for now…
Dec 30

To all of you Simply Jubilee bloggers, I am both happy and sad to temporarily be away for some months while interning at Walt Disney World. However, I am ready to be inspired by my surroundings. From time to time, I will continue to post about the things I see during my stay in the land where magic exists. I’m excited to share my experience and look forward to gathering and sharing new ideas for all of you brides when I return!

Wildlife Inspiration

Who knew an animal with an exquisite linear pattern could provide this much inspiration. Zebras have attracted more than children to their local zoos. From fashion designers’ creations of high- end zebra print tote bags and purses, to a baker’s most creative pieces of art, zebras and other wild animals have stolen the spotlight and set the trendiest fashions. The animal print craze has gone as far as to inspire wedding themes and color palettes, typically utilizing the traditional black and white, while incorporating a single bright color to add a modern elegant touch. And if you’re an adventure seeker, this Hummer limo would definitely be the “wildest” way to end your special day.
