Tis’ the season to get engaged and taking your relationship to the next level. This can be a very romantic, yet frightening experience that you can encounter. Depending on the dynamics of your relationship, here are a few suggestions to get ready, set and pop the question to the woman of your dreams.
Hopeless Romantic: If your love cries during every movie she watches on Lifetime Movie Network, it’s safe to say she is a “Hopeless Romantic”. In this case, take a few clues from the most romantic proposals seen in feature films, however tweak them to make them your own. Make a reservation at her favorite restaurant in a private dining room or cook her favorite meal. Dress the part and wear a suit with a tie. Set the mood with an obscene amount of candles (in glass containers of course, to avoid any fire hazards). Right before dessert, get on bended knee and ask her four simple words, “Will you marry me?”.
The Adventurer: On a date that is not significant to your relationship, send your love on a fun scavenger hunt. Use the city as your playground and send her to places that have some significance to your relationship (i.e. where you met, where you had your first date, or shared your first kiss). Your first clue should include that you want to spice up the relationship and send her a fun scavenger hunt as well as the rules of the game. While she’s away on her hunt, you use this time to prepare for the big moment whether at a restaurant, at home or another special location. Don’t forget to dress the part.
The Thrill Seeker: Combine one adrenaline rush with another and take your love sky diving, bungee jumping or river rafting and then pop the question in the midst of it all for the ultimate rush!
No matter how you decide to pop the question, be true to yourself and your relationship and it will all happen naturally. Remember, this moment is about the commitment you make to each other and taking the next step in your lives together and that is what is most important.
