One of the  most commonly asked question we heard in 2009 was, “What are some ways we can save money on our wedding?” I have a feeling that in 2010 we will all still be needing to answer that question.  The following are some great money saving tips:

  • The number one way you can save money is to cut your guest count. That saves you money when it comes to food, drinks, centerpieces, linens, favors, invitations, and stamps. If you can cut your guest list you can easily save thousands of dollars.
  • Have a limited bar of just beer and wine. If you want to serve some liquor then include a signature cocktail.
  • Have your wedding on a Friday or Sunday. Venues will often offer significantly discounted prices if you can forgo having your wedding on Saturday.
  • Have your wedding in the winter or summer.  You can often negotiate a much better deal when it is not a popular wedding season/month.
  • Skim costs on the church decorations. A candle lit ceremony is romantic and beautiful. You can save hundreds of dollars by not having flower décor at your ceremony.
  • Hire a wedding planner. If you don’t have the time to plan your wedding, but want to save money, a wedding planner is the route for you.  Wedding planners can customize your budget, find vendors in your price range and often get you some great discounts through their commonly used vendors.
